Apparently Nintendo are attempting to sue Suicide Girls because one of its members listed Zelda and Metroid amongst his favourite games. Quite frankly I think this proves that Lawyers need purging from the human race. These 'individuals' are clearly not really human inside, even if they wear the skins of our fellow man and woman. |

| Bruised |
[Oct. 27th, 2004|06:53 pm] |
|
As the commuters scurry to their homesteads
Under a dark and harassing sky
I look up before passing the threshold
And observe the bruising of the night
Its hues shift and shrink, like a face in shadow
Timid sun acquiescing to autumn's designs
Steely cold greets naked skin,
Gnawing at my own fibre's bruise; without, within
These colours will in time fade, as the sky
Pallid normality usurping ardent tone
And though that hour lies distant and unseen,
When winter's hostile sting recedes; spring will embrace.
I close the door. |

| Freud, he say |
[Oct. 27th, 2004|05:52 pm] |

Oral: you appear to have a good balance of independence and interdependence.
Anal: you appear to have a good balance of self control and spontaneity.
Phallic: you appear to have a good balance of sexual awareness and sexual composure.
Latency: you appear to have a good balance of knowledge seeking and practicality.
Genital: you appear to be stuck between a progressive and regressive outlook on life.
Maybe Freud would have more to say were he to talk to me in person. I'm sure he'd be less ambiguous in his analysis then. |

I must say, I rather like Has Been. At times William Shatner's narrative-style of singing (if you can call it that) recalls Jazz Club, but the Ben Folds' influence ensures that the narrative sits atop a mellow and engaging score. The likes of Lemon Jelly and Aimee Mann assist in producing what really is pretty good stuff. And Shatner's contribution doesn't ruin it in any sense.
Has Been implies failure.
Not so
Has Been is history
Has Been was
Has Been might again |

The Guardian newspaper decided it'd be a good idea to invite its readership to write to undecided votors in the state of Ohio. Some Americans liked this idea. Some didn't. |

Given that the Spread Firefox team today announced that Firefox 1.0 will be released on November 9th, and that just so happens to be the date that a certain other rather eagerly awaited piece of software comes out, I decided to make a wallpaper for a laugh. Preview below.

You can download this image in various sizes.

Via dizietsma: William Shatner: Has Been. Suffice to say I couldn't stop myself ordering this within seconds of reading about it. I had been wondering just where that Common People cover originated. I decided to order something else with it from Amazon:
Bloody Amazon. |

| Has the world gone mad? |

There is something quite obtuse about a meeting in which we discuss every staff related issue from sickness, working hours, lieu time, overtime, performance and morale, occupying nearly 3 hours of the day, and is followed by the worst sandwiches I've ever tasted in my life. One of them, which ostensibly was a chinese chicken sandwich on sliced brown bread, tasted like curry. Only curry that had been made with one part salt to every one part chicken. And with sand in it.
Ugh.
Oh, and the bit about morale? That was a lie. We sort of ignored that one. This physician is afraid to look in the mirror. |

Well here is a livejournal. Quite pointless, but I wanted to be able to reply with trite little messages on other peoples' journals. I shall set to this task immediately. |
